Flight planning is poised to move up a gear as airlines invest in new systems from a range of companies, and some of the smaller players are acquired by larger aviation concerns. For example, GE Aviation has acquired BMB Fuel, following on closely from its 2009 acquisition of Naverus – which specialises in more efficient approaches using GPS.
